Well, I'm not a professional, by any means. I'm just someone who likes taking pictures, yeah? Before about 18DEC10, I was using my cell-phone to take pictures (3.1 mp). It did a pretty good job; however, for Christmas, I received a Kodak Easy Share which has 12 mp and take much nicer pictures. I'm saving this year, so that next Christmas I can buy myself a much better camera! :) I hope you enjoy my photos.

06OCT10

You know, this was much prettier when my eye was seeing it than it is now through a camera lens. But, it is the photo for Wednesday, 06OCT10, pretty or not!

05OCT10

Here are a few pictures from today. First thing in the morning, I went over to Marilyn's to pick up my paycheck. Since today was the funeral of a family member, no one had left the house yet. I walked into the house to find Alan--Pop's son-in-law--sitting in the comfy chair with his feet up and a sleeping Lily on his lap. I couldn't help snapping a picture of it. She is just too cute for words!
I haven't had as many "accident" shots lately, but today was an interesting one. When I took the picture, I was about to get a picture of an old friend I met today--Clint Brown; however, I pushed the button too early. Sometimes, that phone and I just don't get along! I was putting it up to my ear this morning when it slipped right outta my hand and onto my lip, giving me a--that's right, I had a fat lip today! It's all gone down to nothing by now, but I sure did have Julia Roberts' style lips there for a little while today.
And of course, the wind was blowing this morning and the flags which hang outside the Kountze Church of Christ were flapping and drawing my attention. I just had to get a picture of them and of the really pretty green and scarlet trees outside of the building.
There was an A-dorable baby there at Kountze today. I had another cool picture where he was JUST about to start smiling, but I accidentally erased it! :( Ahhh well, this one is cute, too, yeah?
And lastly, my ABSOLUTE favorite picture today is my great-nephew, Ryan Anthony, just moments after his momentous arrival out into fresh air! He looked like his lungs were working well in the picture (and that he might be a little cold!)
Isn't he beautiful? I love him already and I haven't even seen him in real life!
I can't wait to meet him and for each and every moment after that one.
Welcome to the world, Ryan Anthony! Great Aunt Loralee and God both love ya a lot! :) <3

1)Ryan Anthony, born at 4:25 p.m. after 30 hours of labor. He weighted 9 pounds and 2 ounces and is 20 and 3/4 inches long.

2) here is a little boy who is very cute, but not quite as cute as Ryan!

3) Pretty tree

4) Lovely Flag

5) Accident Shot

6) Opie and Lily!

My favorite photos of the sunset ones from this evening. I like that I can see the grass blades even though it is too dark to see any other details.

Pop on the porch as the sun was going down. :) sorry it is so small. I'm fixing that camera NOW! :)

02OCT10 Astros Outing

Cole and I sat in Mike and Tammy's back seat on the way to the Astros game. Cole is even wearing Astro gear--cap and shirt--We were already having fun.
I know, I know: I'm a freak about flags, right? This one was HUGE. Of course, you can't really tell that from this photo cos there is nothing to compare it to in the picture. But it was huge and the wind was blowing. It was great. The reflection in the window is kinda cool.
One of the two murals outside the doors of Pancho's restaurant where we stopped to eat before going to the game. I think it looked pretty cool, I thought!
The other one. It looks like a fun place to jump into the picture and start walking and/or exploring. I wonder what kind of adventures we could find in this little Spanish town?Me and the Pancho's guy. I HAD to get a picture, yeah?
That cute little boy who came with us to the game. Can't remember his name, but if y'all know it, please comment. I want him to have his due. And, what is so super califragilistically cool about him is that he posed underneath a flower. He even let me change his position so that I could see the flower better. How cool is that? What a fun, easy-going, likeable young man!
Aurora! and me.
They weren't quite ready when I took this shot. Pike doesn't really wanna pose! The sun is in Aurora's eyes! Gage was busy being a good Daddy! Only Kelly was ready! ;)
Ahhh! Here we go! What a beautiful family!
Me and my favorite Whitehead EVER! Cole Younger Whitehead. He is Pop's youngest grandchild.

Okay the rest of the pictures are ones I took after Keri taught me how to use the phone's zoom function. Turns out that when you use the zoom function (because you have to change the number of pixels or something) it makes the pictures pretty small. I'm thinking I'm changing it back TONIGHT!!! It is good to know what to do if I DO need a zoom; however, I think I'll need it only on very rare occasions. Additionally, I'm working on learning a little bit at a time about photography, so I was glad about the free lesson from someone more knowledgeable than I. AND, a photography textbook is on my Amazon.com wishlist, so maybe a sister or parent will get it for me for Christmas!!!
He is so STINKIN' cute! :)
C Ray's son's wife! She is pretty cool. :)
Grandpa and granddaughter # 1
Grandpa and granddaughter # 2 She is so stinkin' cute too!I was walking around exploring. I found this guy with a HUGE hat. He let me take a picture, but somehow, I find it lacking. It just doesn't illustrate well enough how huge this hat was. :( But still!! He was all a part of a great adventure. :)
I had great fun at the Astros game. However, I gotta tell y'all. I prolly watched about 30 minutes of it. Come on! Did y'all expect me to WATCH? Surely you knew I'd be talking!

30SEP10

This is my favorite picture from last Thursday. I am drawn to old buildings when I am driving with my cell phone in hand. There is just something so pure and special about an old barn, painted with that barn red!

I love how Buna folk love their flags! This family painted their own homemade flag which sits in the corner of their yard.

These two dogs greeted us when we were exploring some back roads in Buna. :)

I was trying to take a picture of this long six car wooden shack garage and all the old-fashioned cars which sat in each of the six berths of this nifty garden; however, the sun blocked the picture. This looked pretty cool even though it wasn't what i originally wanted.
This cattywompus tree just looked too cool not to photograph!

Even in the middle of the country in Southeast Texas, I find a bit of home. Austin tree interesects with Pecan Street. Of course, anyone from Austin knows about the fabulous Pecan street festival every Spring. When I saw the street sign, I had to take the picture so that I would have this strange reminder of home. :)
