Well, I'm not a professional, by any means. I'm just someone who likes taking pictures, yeah? Before about 18DEC10, I was using my cell-phone to take pictures (3.1 mp). It did a pretty good job; however, for Christmas, I received a Kodak Easy Share which has 12 mp and take much nicer pictures. I'm saving this year, so that next Christmas I can buy myself a much better camera! :) I hope you enjoy my photos.

Marilyn's Cat loves to lounge on Kyle's (the old man who just turned 30) car. Those are either bike or ski racks on the top edge of the photo.

I didn't plan it this way, but I like that it is almost completely either black or white. There is only one little tiny patch of green on the right and a few trees in the center left.

My apologies!

I'm sorry for the week-long delay in posting. My computer was acting up and I couldn't fix it. It wouldn't allow me to share my blogspot posts with Facebook. Please Forgive!
love,
Me :)

On the way home from the airport, I saw this big truck heading toward me loaded up with Hay. These bales were H-U-G-E! Notice the wheels at the bottom of the truck and then you'll have a good gauge of how large they are. To be they are this unpurposeful, but completely perfect image of Americana. Lovely!

This is one of my favorite photos from last Saturday. We were all at the house (3003) spending time while the turkey was cooking. We decided to take a round of pictures like we often do at these sort of get-togethers. We all went over to the hill on which we've always sat for family pictures when we're at 3003. It is also the hill that every generation which descended from Claude and Millie rolled down, often in "race" format.

We were taking group shots of all of us in the generation which descended from the original eleven kids of Claude and Millie Peay. We range from 10 to 45 in age, by the way. What an incredible age range for one generation! So, I asked Aunt Kelly if she would take a few close-ups of all of us while everyone else was taking the large shots of the whole group. This picture of MOST of the Peay girls is just so amazing to me. This group of us are sitting there--happy and smiling and together--when Aunt Kelly snapped this shot. They're just so gorgeous, all of them, and their happiness at being together just shone back through the camera lens.

On the way to the airport, I saw these two dilapidated buildings. I wonder what interesting historical stories occurred there. It is hard to see in the top pictures, but there is an alcove large enough for a car to fit. As you can see, the "upstairs" is twice the size of the ground floor. I can't help but wonder how that building was used. Was it a business and the upper floors were storage? Was it is business on the bottom and a home on the top floor, as was the custom in previous years? I wonder...

Tuesday: The Browns

o/' o/' It's a small world after all. It's a small world after all. o/' o/'
That song is especially true about the church. It is such a small world. Anywhere you go, you'll know someone who knows someone you know. It is almost always like you're in the middle of a family reunion!
Tuesday, I went to a Tuesday ladies' class at Kountze during their annual Gospel Meeting. It was there I had another one of those "It's a small world" happy meetings.
The guest preacher was Clint Brown! We went to Bible School together 14 or 15 years ago. Accompanying him were his wife and two boys. His wife also went to school with us, though she wasn't his wife at the time. They met at Brown Trail and became friends and grew into something "special-er." ha!
Anyway, it was lovely to see them and the following are pictures of our little bit of time together.

I must have been so excited about seeing these four that my camera phone was shaky. The results were certainly blurry, but I think even in that case you can see a nice, happy family. I sat in front of them during the lesson and was so pleased to hear their oldest boy singing out whilst we sang and turning bible pages when his daddy suggested we turn somewhere. It is just pretty obvious that these two are striving diligently to raise godly young men. :)

A reunion picture, of sorts. Me, Veronica, and Clint after a delicious chicken spaghetti meal made by the ladies of the congregation. The salad was FANTASTIC. It even had yellow bell peppers in it. The desserts were all home-made. I chose cherry pie.
But the best part of the meal was getting to catch up with Clint and Veronica!

The boys were adorable. The youngest is a bit of a pistol, yeah? For some reason, the boys and I were discussing words and I asked him what his favorite word was "Joshua" he said. I laughed, but sort of felt a connection to him. Often, I have smiled when I saw the name "Ford" on a truck in front of me or on that arena in Beaumont. We decided he had to choose a different favorite word, and he charmingly told us it was Brown! :)

Clint and I, smiling. :)

Another reunion picture: Isn't Veronica GORGEOUS? If I didn't know for certain that 15 years have passed since first we met, I'd certainly have thought she was still in her early 20's. :) and best of all, she has such a good and godly heart. I still remember a letter I received from her (i think upon my graduation from Brown Trail) thanking me for being the first single woman to go to that school. She considered me a trailblazer, of sorts, and was thankful that I had gone on ahead and smoothed the road for other single gals. I'm doubly sure she is thankful now because she met Clint at school!

The beautiful Brown Family in front of the Kountze building. Aren't they just lovely?!? :-)

When I first started uploading more than one photo per day, the pictures uploaded in a very orderly fashion: one right after the other and it was easy to write comments, etc.
Nowadays, they seem to upload kinda cattywompus and then when I actually publish the post, they turn out different in an ADDITIONAL way, so by the time y'all see these pictures, they could be a crazy, crazy order. That being said, I beg your forgiveness ahead of time for an oddly laid out post. I guess just use the contextual evidence to try to figure out which comment goes with which picture.

What I think is the first photo today is one of my surprise pepper plant. Not only did I plant flower seeds in the pot and a pepper plant came up, but also these peppers are staying small and changing colors all the time. Now the pot has yellow, orange, and deep red peppers growing. I'm just in awe of natures colors! Just beautiful. The other pepper plants which were growing alongside this one I've featured for today are beginning to grow some peppers of their own, very slowly. Those peppers are still banana yellow peppers. I'm sure we'll end up going through the spectrum of beautiful colors with them also. It is just so wonderful to watch them change colors! The differences between the colors is amazing. It makes you wonder how one plants can have so many different colors waiting inside of it to show themselves off.
It makes me think of an elementary school play where the kids have had really rockin' cool costumes made by their mommas and they each go out one by one to speak their lines and then exit stage left and let another kid come out to do her thing! :)

The second photo is one of a bloom off my hibiscus plant and some colorful peppers Marilyn purchased from the local Brookshire Brothers. I saw them in the sale ad and immediately decided I'd do stuffed peppers one night--which I did, last night. Before I got started, I figured it'd be neat to have a picture of the lovely colors--all God made and so beautiful. :)
Considering what I've learned about how colors change on my own pepper plants, i wonder if these three store bought peppers were all just picked at different time in their growth cycles or if they were actually designed to come out these three different colors.

The greenery: that is a shot of one of the pots in which I planted the seeds from Samantha's wedding in August. They're all growing along just peachily and it is neat to see the different size and shape and style of plant all growing in their together. What a neat idea for Sam to have for a wedding gift. If ever I marry, I may have to copy more than one idea from her wonderful and beautiful wedding. :)
